About IFS Food Version 8

IFS Food Version 8 is a GFSI-benchmarked food safety standard issued by IFS Management GmbH (a joint initiative of major European retailers). It is particularly strong in continental Europe, especially DACH (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) and France. Version 8 (published Q4 2023, mandatory from Q3 2024) introduces a culture-focused approach, food fraud and defence, allergen management, and has 4 KO (Knock-Out) requirements that, if failed, prevent certification.

What is the IFS Food Version 8 Food Safety gap analysis tool and how does it work?
The IFS Food Version 8 Food Safety gap analysis tool is a free browser-based checklist that compares your current management system against the clauses of IFS Food Version 8 Food Safety. You answer clause-by-clause questions and rate each requirement as Compliant, Partial or Non-compliant.
