Certification Roadmap Planner

Generate a customised certification timeline from gap analysis through stage 1 and stage 2 audits to certificate. Choose your standard, target date, and organisation size — we’ll produce a realistic milestone-by-milestone plan you can print, export to JSON, or download as an ICS calendar.

How the Planner Works

The roadmap is built from real-world certification timelines compiled across hundreds of UK and international ISO implementations. The duration of each phase scales with your organisation size and starting maturity. The dates assume you allocate sufficient internal resource (typically 1 FTE for a 6-12 month rollout in a medium-sized organisation).

Five phases: Preparation → Implementation → Internal audit → Certification audits → Maintenance.

FAQ

How accurate are these timelines?

They reflect typical industry timelines. Greenfield implementations of complex standards (ISO 27001, IATF 16949) can take 12–18 months; bolt-on certifications when another ISO is already in place can be done in 4–6 months. Your certification body will agree the formal audit dates.

Can I share this roadmap with my team?

Yes — use the Export JSON / iCal / CSV buttons. The iCal file imports into Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar etc. with one click. Or use Print to save as PDF.

What if I miss a milestone?

Drag the start date forward and regenerate. All downstream milestones recalculate automatically.

Does this replace a project plan?

No — it’s a starting framework. For complex implementations you’ll need a fuller plan with task-level breakdown. Many organisations use this roadmap to seed a Microsoft Project, Asana, or JIRA project.
