ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1 provides rules for the construction of pressure vessels (including unfired steam boilers below 50 psig and certain other vessels). It covers design, materials, fabrication, inspection, testing, and certification ("U" stamp). Vessels designed and built to Section VIII Division 1 are accepted by regulators in most US states, Canada, and many other jurisdictions worldwide.
